Information by the Department of Foreign Investment of the Ministry of Commerce According to the Customs’ statistics, between January – April this year, the trade exchanges of foreign-funded enterprise totaled US$131.542 billion, an increase of 43.53 per cent increase over the same period of last year - 3.7 per cent higher than the growth rate of the country’s trade exchanges (39.83 per cent), accounting for 53.92 per cent of the country’s total. The Jan. -April imports and exports of foreign-funded enterprises had the following features: 　　Jan. – April, 2003, the exports of foreign-funded enterprise totaled US$65.738 billion, growing by 38.97 per cent over the same period of last year – 5.47 per cent higher than the growth rate (33.5 per cent) of the total exports in the same period in the whole country, accounting for 53.87 per cent of the country’s total – 2.12 per cent higher than the percentage taken in the same period of last year. 　　Jan. – April, the imports of foreign-funded enterprises totaled US$65.804 billion, an increase of 48.39 per cent over the same period of last year – 1.59 per cent higher than the growth rate (46.8 per cent) of the country’s total imports in the same period, taking 53.7 per cent of the country’s total. Of that, imports of equipment for use by these enterprises totaled US$6.53 billion, up by 31.23 per cent over the same period of last year, accounting for 9.92 per cent of their total imports, 1.3 per cent lower than the percentage in the corresponding period of last year.
