Statistics show that the import & export of FIEs totaled US$214.697 billion in January through November 2000, up by 37.45% over the same period in 1999; the export volume of FIEs reached US$108.274 billion, up by 36.01%, while the import reached US$106.423 billion, up by 38.94%. Of the investment made by FIEs, US$11.623 billion went to the import of equipment for their own use, up by 16.03% and accounting for 10.98% of their total import volume.
