According to the statistics of news release of foreign investment, from January to October 2008, foreign-invested enterprises newly approved for establishment reached total number of 22736, a decreased 26.24% as compared with that of the same period last year; and the actual use of foreign investment reached USD81.096b, a growth 35.06% as compared with that of the same period last year.

According to the statistics of news release of foreign investment, in October 2008, foreign-invested enterprises newly approved for establishment reached total number of 1935, a decreased 26.15% as compared with that of the same period last year; and the actual use of foreign investment reached USD6.722b, a decreased 2.02% as compared with that of the same period last year.

From January to October from the US, the number of newly established enterprises in China witnessed a decreased of 30.14% and actual use of foreign investment growth by 6.19% respectively; And from Europe, the number of newly established enterprises in China witnessed a decreased of 22.51% and actual use of foreign investment growth by 26.19% respectively.

From January to October this year, the top ten nations and regions with investment in China (as per the actual input of foreign capital) are as follows: Hong Kong (USD36.252b), Virgin Island (USD14.748b), Singapore (USD3.649b), Japan (USD3.136b), South Korea (USD2.711b), Cayman Islands (USD2.684b),West Samoa (USD2.421b), the US(USD2.369b), Taiwan Province(USD1.582b) and Mauritius (USD1.317b), total of which accounted for 87.39% of total actual use of foreign investment in the country.
