News Release of National Assimilation of FDI From January to February 2008

According to the statistics of news release of foreign investment, from January to February 2008, foreign-invested enterprises newly approved for establishment reached total number of 4372, a decreased 23.51% as compared with that of the same period last year; and the actual use of foreign investment reached USD18.128b, a growth 75.19% as compared with that of the same period last year.

According to the statistics of news release of foreign investment, in February 2008, foreign-invested enterprises newly approved for establishment reached total number of 1454, a decreased 38.02% as compared with that of the same period last year; and the actual use of foreign investment reached USD6.928b, a growth 38.31% as compared with that of the same period last year.

From January to February from the US, the number of newly established enterprises in China witnessed a decreased of 32.41% and actual use of foreign investment growth by 43.69% respectively; And from Europe, the number of newly established enterprises in China witnessed a decreased of 26.61% and actual use of foreign investment growth by 109.86% respectively.

From January to February this year, the top ten nations and regions with investment in China (as per the actual input of foreign capital) are as follows: Hong Kong (USD7.671b), Virgin Island (USD3.39b), Singapore (USD807m), Japan (USD762m), South Korea (USD696m), the US(USD690m), Cayman Islands (USD653m), West Samoa (USD505m), Taiwan Province(USD373m) and Mauritius (USD310m), total of which accounted for 87.47% of total actual use of foreign investment in the country.
