According to the statistics of news release of foreign investment, from January to May 2007, foreign-invested enterprises newly approved for establishment reached total number of 15072, a decreased 3.75% as compared with that of the same period last year; and the actual use of foreign investment reached USD25.258b, a growth 9.87% as compared with that of the same period last year.

According to the statistics of news release of foreign investment, in May 2007, foreign-invested enterprises newly approved for establishment reached total number of 2723, a decreased 9.83% as compared with that of the same period last year; and the actual use of foreign investment reached USD4.899b, a growth 8.65% as compared with that of the same period last year.

From January to May from the US, the number of newly established enterprises in China witnessed a decreased of 14.11% and actual use of foreign investment growth by 5.9% respectively; And from Europe, the number of newly established enterprises in China witnessed a decreased of 6.43% and actual use of foreign investment decreased by 38.94% respectively.

From January to May this year, the top ten nations and regions with investment in China (as per the actual input of foreign capital) are as follows: Hong Kong (USD8.468b), Virgin Island (USD5.967b), Japan (USD1.564b), South Korea (USD1.215b), Singapore (USD1.038b),the US(USD1.031b), Cayman Islands (USD860m), West Samoa (USD644m), Taiwan Province(USD542m) and Mauritius (USD435m), total of which accounted for 86.16% of total actual use of foreign investment in the country.
