2008-07-14

Chrysler LLC recently announced that its Asia-Pacific headquarter, which was created last October, officially settled in Shanghai Hongqiao Development Zone. This fully reflects a strategic plan of the post-independence Chrysler that set the Chinese market as the core and comprehensively develops the Asia-Pacific market.

The Asia-Pacific operational headquarter is responsible for Chrysler¡¯s business in the entire Asia-Pacific region, including business in China. The company is working to establish, enrich, and improve the integration of the various functional departments, in order to comprehensively and rapidly promote the development of its Asia-Pacific business. According to introduction, Chrysler is committed to the establishment of an efficient and streamlined business structure. It does not separately set up a regional headquarter in China any more, and now it adopts a functional responsibility system, i.e. the duties of all functional departments in Asia-Pacific operational headquarter cover all the business in China. At the same time, Chrysler will retain and enrich some important functions in Beijing.

Zheng Jie, Asia-Pacific Business Market and Dissemination Director of Chrysler Group, said that Shanghai became the ideal choice of the Chrysler Asia-Pacific Headquarter due to its geographical convenience in the Asia-Pacific region and its mature automobile industry base. The establishment and expansion of the Asia-Pacific headquarter also provides a wider platform for career development of all Chrysler employees in China.
