Reporters learned about Lhasa Economic and Technological Development Zone that there are currently a total of 115 enterprises with registered capital of RMB yuan 1.6 billion at the development zone. There are 21 new enterprises registered between January and June 2008, and the increased registered capital is RMB yuan 604.53 million. Since 2004, enterprises at the development zone have totally paid tax of RMB yuan 240 million, of which RMB yuan 100 million was paid in the first half of this year.

At present,there are 14 projects under construction, which include Tibet Tibetan Medicine Group Co., Ltd, Xinyuan Pipelines Company, Qisheng local special Company and so on. Some of therm have been put into production and operation such as Xinyuan Pipelines Company, Qisheng local special Company, Zhongkai Mining Company, Maintaining Comany of China Railway 12 TH Bereau Group, Kangsheng Car Sales Service Company, etc. This year, there will be some other projects which will be started. These include Zhuoma National Handicraft Company, Brewery Company of Autonomous Region, Kangda Project of Highland Barley Wine and Mineral Water, Kangda General Merchandise Supermarket Project, etc.
 
Lhasa Economic and Technological Development Zone has well managed its various work and unremittingly ensured the construction of projects since the beginning of this year. Firstlty, it has done a good job in managing projects under construction. It continues to offer project-tracking service, and improvee coordination service for projects, paticularly the projects under construction, so as to resolve various difficulties and problems from every espect for enterprises and make sure the projefts will be completed as soon as possible. Secondly, it paid high attention to the proposed projects in 2008. Great targeted efforts have been made to solve specific problems one by one in the project preparation process. It has ensured basic conditions for the construction of projects to make the construction being started as soon as possible. Thirdly, it has done well in screening and reserving of projects. Based on resource advantages of minerals, Tibetan medicine, tourism, and regional advantages, infrastructure advantages, policy advantages of the development zone, it has invited professionals to do planning and packaging, editing investment manual of the development zone. In addition, it has invited project proposals for investment in a large scale by holding project discussion and collection meetings, which constantly improve the investment project database.
