The construction of two key industrial projects was started in Xining Economic and Technological Development Zone since June.
   
The two projects include a project with an annual output of 12,000 tons of electronic aluminum foil and 24 million square meters of high-performance middle-high voltage formed aluminum foil, and a project with an annual output of 200,000 tons of high carbon ferrochrome. The first project is greatly encouraged and supported during the national Five-Year-Plan Period, and it is also the key industrial development project of our province this year. Its total investment is up to RMB yuan 1.25 billion, covering an area of 513 mu with a two-year construction period. While finished, the annual output will be 12,000 tons of electronic aluminum foil, corrosion foil, formed foil and so on. The formed foil project with a total area of 24 million square meters has an expected annual sales income of RMB yuan 1.62 billion and a profit of RMB yuan 230 million, and it offers jobs to more than 1,400 people.

The project with an annual output of 200,000 tons of high carbon ferrochrome has an investment of RMB yuan 700 million. It bases on rich chromite, silica, Coke, electricity resources and convenient transport conditions and preferential policies of our province, takes modern enterprise management mode, relies on long-term experience in chrome alloy production and produces metallurgical products with strong competitiveness. As the essential component of stainless steel products, while completed and put into production, the project will yield an annual sale of RMB yuan 3.5 billion, offer jobs to more than 1,000 local people, and turn in RMB yuan 180 million to the government as taxes.
   
The implementation of these two projects is of positive significance for the Industrial Park of our province in terms of  developing new materials, creating intensive processing industrial base of non-ferrous metals and promoting the adjustment of industrial structure, changing the mode of economic growth, upgrading the industrial level and technical level, advancing the process of industrialization in our province, developing recycling economy, saving energy and reducing emissions, improving the comprehensive utilization of resources, and so on.
