Guangzhou Development Zone strategically goes hand-in-hand with Sun Yat-Sen University! On 30th May, the Guangzhou Development Zone-Sun Yat-Sen University Biology Industry Institute was established. Xue Xiaofeng, who is a member of the municipal standing committee, the secretary of the party and working committee of Guangzhou Development Zone, the director of the management committee as well as the secretary of Luogang District, was present at the meeting and delivered a speech.

As the first of the 8 cooperative projects signed between Guangzhou municipal government and Sun Yat-Sen University, the Biology Industry Institute plans to carry out more than 20 incubator projects in the next five years, and successfully bring about 12 to 15 enterprises, which will promote a social investment of RMB yuan 1 billion. At present, the institute is negotiating several projects including the building of "Gene Chip HPV Diagnostic Products" Industrial Base through cooperation with the University of Hong Kong.
