The fourth phase of high end sedan project of Tianjin FAW Toyota ,which was expected to have annual productivity of 50 thousand crown sedans ,was started in Tianjin ETDZ on May 13 . 

Yang Dongliang , Standing Member of Tianjin CPC Committee and Standing Deputy Mayor ,and Wang Zhiping , Deputy Mayor attended the ground breaking ceremony and met the delegation led by Xu Jianyi General Manager of China FAW Group and the Commissioner of Toyota . Li Yong ,Party Secretary of the Management Committee was also in the attendance . 

During the meeting , Yang Dongliang , on behalf of Tianjin CPC Committee and the municipal government , expressed the congratulation to the commencement of the project and the gratitude to the contribution that China FAW Group and Toyota have made for the development of Tianjin's auto industry . He said that we are currently implementing the decisions made on the 3rd session of the 9th Municipal People's Congress according to the requirement of leading the country in two aspects and playing a role of pioneer, accelerating the development and opening up of Binhai New Development Zone and the construction of a large number of leading projects of high technology and great potential , exerting efforts to build a industrial structure of high end , super quality and advanced technology , thus realizing the scientific and harmonious development in Tianjin .  We will further optimize the investment environment and provide high quality service , coordinating problems that companies encounter in development , cooperating with FAW and Toyota closely to realize the goal of producing 1 million sedans ,1 million engines and generating sales revenue of 10 million Yuan per year with an investment of 10 billion Yuan in the first phase . 

The project involved a total investment of 1.5 billion Yuan , including welding, painting, assembly and  resin workshops and supporting water disposal plant . It covers an area of 80 thousand square meters and will engage in production of crown sedan.  The construction of R&D center was started at the same time . After the completion of the project , Tianjin FAW Toyota will be capable of producing 50 thousand more crown sedans and increase sales revenue by 15 billion Yuan per year .
