After continuously intensifying investments during the past two decades , the leading industries in harbor areaof Ningbo ETDZ are now reaping fruit ,the support of which to export-oriented modern industries is prominent.  The following data could testify these achievements : the major 6 industries in harbor area , namely petrochemical, steel, energy , paper manufacturing , automobile and shipbuilding , realized a total output value of 16.71 billion Yuan in the first quarter , increasing 28.7% and accounting for 58.1% of the gross industrial output volume of enterprises above designated size .  The profit and tax of the six industries stood at 1.71 billion Yuan, 890 million of which was net profit , increasing 169.3% and 126.7% compared to the same period of the previous year , and 74.4% and 52.9% higher than the increasing speed of enterprises above designated size . 

Since the beginning of the year ,despite difficulties like dollar depreciation, tightened money supply,  appreciation of raw materials , Ningbo ETDZ managed to handle operating pressure and risks and promote economic benefit.  Prominent in enterprises of the zone were Baoxin Stainless Steel, Ningbo Iron and Steel, Yusheng Petro Chemical , Gili Auto , Asia Slurry Paper , tAihua Plastic, Beilun Electricity Generation and Jinguang Food , which realized an output value of 12.18 billion Yuan and profit of 660 million in the first quarter , up 30.6% and 414% respective compared to the previous year . 

Leading enterprises in harbor area made continuous efforts to transform the economic development mode , through optimizing product mix, innovating technologies and developing circular economy , they managed to decrease operational cost and realized a win-win situation of economic and social benefits .High voltage frequency conversion was applied in all equipment above 185KW / 16KV in Taihua Plastic project , which could save up to tens of millions of kilowatts per year . Yusheng Petrochemical reconstructed its circulating water system , with a cost of 2 million Yuan , it could save 136 billion kilowatts' electricity and 10.2 million Yuan's cost per year.  Meanwhile 55.56 million Yuan was invested to carry out over 50 clean production schemes, which could yield 75.69 million Yuan's economic benefit per year.  Desulfuration and denitration devices were installed in two super-super-critical coal burning generators of 1 million kilowatts  in Beilun Generating Station , decreasing the coal consumption to 321 gram / kilowatt-hour , 45 grams / kilowatt-hour lower than the national average level and approaching the most advanced level of 300 grams / kilowatt-hour .  Ningbo Asia Slurry Paper Co., Ltd adopted 14 measures to reduce gas consumption , which could generate 13.20 million Yuan's profit each year .  The reconstructed water circulation system could save up to over 10 million Yuan per year , and after the implementation of the 52 clean production shames , 17.90 million kilowatt hours' electricity and 8200 tons' oil  could be saved.  Ningbo Baoxin Stainless Steel Co., Ltd made strict budget , decreasing its coal consumption to world leading level , while in the past 4 years , through innovating management and adopting advice of the first line employees ,realized an additional economic benefit of over 100 million Yuan .
