By adhering to the new approach of industrialization ,constructing industrial zones in adjacent area of the harbor and promoting the level of industrial clusters in a continuous manner ,Lianyungang ETDZ made a good beginning in the first quarter , realizing fiscal revenue of 888 million Yuan , increasing 72.9%，and actually used foreign funds of 2 billion Yuan . 

According to Tang Guohai , Standing Member of Lianyungang CPC Committee and major authority of the ETDZ , the CPC Working Committee of the zone and the Management Committee implemented the scientific outlook on development in the past three years , realizing an important transition of the development concept , which has been served as the engine of the sound and fast economic development in the first quarter after making a record high of economic benefit in last year . 

After analyzing its advantages in location , resources , environment and land , the ETDZ made a development plan highlighting new energy, new material, new medical, equipment manufacturing and modern logistics . Over 20 billion Yuan has been invested for the construction of infrastructure and supporting projects on the wide salina and wilderness adjacent to the harbor, which has greatly improved the investment environment in the area and served as a platform for the acceptation of foreign capital and projects transfer from southern China .  Last year 154 projects were introduced into the zone, 81 of which were with an investment of over 10 million or even 100 million dollars . Among the 81 , 18 projects had foreign investment of over 30 million dollars and 24 had domestic investment of over 200 million Yuan . 

In Lianyungang , wind power and auto part  projects have attracted a major part of the total investment .  Projects of wind turbine tower, laminae and engine invested by big names from both home and abroad such as China Wind Turbine Holding Company and Korea Zhongshan , have formed the supporting industries of  wind power generation. Meanwhile auto part refitment projects invested by large enterprises represented by Youth Auto Group were under construction .

In order to utilize resources in a scientific way and to realize sustainable development, Lianyungang ETDZ considered the concept of promoting agriculture by development industry in a comprehensive context .  As the leading industry of the zone , the National New Medial Base actively took advantage of the abundant land source in adjacent counties and adopted the method that combining the efforts of companies , farmers and the base to lead farmers to build a natural medical material  library . In the management, an industrialized way was adopted , building exemplary areas and , promoting the base and extending the industrial chain countinously ,thus increasing farmers' net income by 20% . Meanwhile, the zone attached great importance to the further utilization of its favorable location, based on Lianyungang Port that boasted annual handling capacity of nearly 100 million tons , building a modern logistic hub .  The total investment of some super large enterprises including Wangang Logistics and Zhongchu Logistics has exceeded 5 billion Yuan . A modern international logistic park has been built that integrated multi-functions such as shipping  , modern storage, circulation ,processing , e-business, product exhibition and comprehensive supporting services . its turnover increased by 30% annually thus propelling the socio-economic development of the zone .
