Two companies under France Safran Group engraining in aerospace equipment parts manufacturing opened in Suzhou Industrial Park, which will engage in manufacturing of aircraft engine parts and undercarriage parts respectively. The setting up and development of aerospace and aviation companies  has brought about the cluster effect for the industry in Suzhou Industrial Park . Shi Heping , Vice Governor and Yan Li ,Deputy Secretary and Mayor of Suzhou received CEO of the company Jean Paul Herteman and his colleagues . 

Safran is a Fortune 500 company who have 4 core businesses ：aerospace engine , aerospace facilities, defense security and communication . It has set up factories in many countries and set up a subsidiary ,Messier Dowty  Aviation ( Suzhou) Plant in Suzhou in 2002 , engaging in manufacturing of  medium -sized undercarriage. In 2005 , another wholly owned subsidiary , Snecma Aviation Industry ( Suzhou) Co. Ltd was established which focused on aircraft engine production and technical support . The two newly set companies were the result of capital increase of the former two projects and both located in area B of the export processing zone with a total area of over 14 thousand square meters .

It was reported that many aerospace equipment manufacturing establishments have set up in the park which made possible the industrial cluster development. The officials of the Working Committee expressed that due to the wide range of the aerospace   manufacturing industry and its completed industrial chain , stress will be laid on the development of the chain of aero engine manufacturing and assembly , and introducing in more advanced enterprises of high tech and promoting local industrial strength .
