On September 1, 2010, the 19th China - Urumchi external economic and trade negotiation meeting (hereinafter referred to the Urumchi Negotiation Meeting) was launched in Urumchi, Xinjiang, and member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and State Councilor Liu Yandong attended the opening ceremony and declared that to further strengthen the full cooperation between China and neighboring countries and build Xinjiang into an important portal and base of China’s opening up to the outside world, Chinese government is determined to upgrade the Urumchi Negotiation Meeting to China-Asia-Europe Exposition as of 2011.
Chinese commerce minister Chen Deming, chairman of the People’s Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Nur Bekri and other leaders attended and addressed the opening ceremony.
