The Ministry of Finance (MOF) and the Ministry of Civil Affairs allocated the natural disaster relief fund of RMB2.005b on August 31 to part of provinces and regions suffering severe floods and mudslides recently for the life relief of disaster-ravaged people.
The MOF announced that floods and mudslides hit such places as Liaoning, Jilin, Shandong, Henan, Sichuan, Yunnan, Shaanxi and Gansu recently, seriously affecting the production and life of the people in the disaster-stricken areas. To help locals to handle well life relief of the disaster-affected people, the aforesaid two departments allocated natural disaster relief fund mainly for the emergency replacement of disaster-inflicted people, rebuilding of collapsed housing and consolation money for the family members of disaster-related casualties.
