McDonald’s will donate RMB1m again to the disaster areas through the MOFCOM. Since the earthquake took place on May 12, the McDonald’s has expressed the wishes to participate in the rescue operation, and the Ronald McDonald Charitable Foundation in the United States contributed RMB500, 000 to the Chinese Red Cross Organization on May 13.
Since the evening of May 13, McDonald’s Mianyang restaurant has resumed business to provide free McDonald’s food and water to the people in disaster areas of Chuanbei. From May 14, McDonald’s Chengdu restaurant has provided free hamburgs to the people who donated blood. And since May 15, McDonald’s has daily offered 10, 000 packs of free food to armed policemen and fire soldiers. McDonald’s restaurant in Chengdu International Community has been listed in the earthquake relief restaurants.
