Recently, Bo Xilai, minister of the MOFCOM and his delegation paid a visit and investigation in Jiangxi. Along with Meng Jianzhu, secretary of Jiangxi provincial committee, and Wu Xinxiong, governor of Jiangxi, they paid visits to Xian Lai Ke Food Ltd., Popular Shopping Mall, Construction Bridge Community, Jiangxi College of Foreign Studies, Jiangxi Copper, ZTE, Microsoft Technical Center, Jiangling Holding Co., Ltd., AUX Electric Manufacturing, Genie Vision Technology and so on.

An official of the MOFCOM said it could be seen through these enterprises and schools that an extraordinary change in Jiangxi business work had taken place. A great deal of experience in projects of domestic trade area that are convenient and benefit for people, for instance, the “Convenient Consumption in Community and Convenient Service in Family” community management mode, or in broadening the export of domestically made products, or in attracting high-tech foreign-funded projects can be learned from, referred to and generalized.

In the afternoon on April 2, Bo Xilai, Meng Jianzhu, Wu Xinxiong jointly hosted the meeting on business work of Jiangxi Province. 29 enterprises from such industries as automobile, mining, domestic trade circulation, textile addresses, cement, ceramics, shipbuilding and high-tech field, as well as representatives from provincial Department of Finance, National Taxation Bureau, State Administration of Foreign Exchange, Economic and Trade Committee, each city and Department of Commerce attended this meeting.

Bo Xilai and his delegation seriously heard the business work of Jiangxi Province and introduction of such enterprises of Jiangling, Jiangxi Copper, Pingxiang Mining, Nanchang Department Store, Xinyu LDK, Ganzhou Huajian and Nanchang Economic and Technological Development Zone. Then raised detailed questions to local authorities or enterprises like foreign investment absorption, one hundred thousand engineering, tens and thousands of town marketing engineering, debt reduction and poverty exemption, mulberry transfer from east to west, foreign project contracts, building of development zone, training and exchanging view on the commercial talents, which were responded by officials from provincial department of foreign investment, department of industry, department of human resources, department of finance, department of construction, department of commercial reform, department of operation, department of cooperation and department of foreign trade respectively.

Bo Xilai said that Jiangxi Province had attached great importance to the business work and persisted in opening up for further development. The whole provincial business work had appeared an inspiring situation and had innovated featured development and management mode in many fields in the effort of accumulating experience for the economic development in Central China. He believed with the solid economic foundation, a large number of talents, as well as a preferable geographic strength Jiangxi can seize opportunities in the rise of Central China and a new round of international industrial transfer to attract more excellent enterprises and projects to settle down and develop in Jiangxi. The MOFCOM will continue to provide good service in supporting Jiangxi economic development by focusing on priorities and getting issues sorted out.

Meng Jianzhu and Wu Xinxiong revealed that the MOFCOM had maintained a close tie to Jiangxi and provided enormous support in the development of opening economy of Jiangxi traditional areas, expanding employment and people’s living standard. Projects such as the tens and thousands of town marketing engineering, Wan Li Xing brand, debt reduction as well as poverty exemption, talented merchants, mulberry transfer from east to west that were implemented by the MOFCOM had been in line with the actual local business work and resolved key and tough issues, benefiting the entire commerce in Jiangxi. The visit and investigation of the MOFCOM delegation to the front line had resolved problems on the spot, which reflected the concern towards Jiangxi and truthful working style of national government.
