DEVELOPMENT OF CHINA'S INDUSTRY
In the first three quarters of 2008, China¡¯s coal supply and demand basically maintained a balance. With the gradually deepened impact of international financial crisis on China¡¯s economy, since September, the coal demand declined, the prices fell back, and the pressure from the excessive coal productivity increased significantly. Under the severe downturn of economy, the growing pressure of policy costs increased and the economic benefits of coal industry fell sharply.
STATUS OF FOREIGN INVESTMENT
According to the statistics of MOFCOM, 9 foreign investment projects in Mining and Agglomeration of Coal industry(Mining and Agglomeration of Coal Industry (Code B06) hereinafter is in accordance with the National Economic Industrial Classification (GB/T4754-2202£©.) were newly set up in 2009, 8 less than that of the same period in the last year, and the amount of the actual utilized foreign capital reached USD 67,110,000, down by 53.51£¥ year-on-year.

With the speeding of globalization of the world economy and the freedom of the world trade, there are chances for China's coal industry.
DEVELOPMENT OF GLOBAL INDUSTRIES
Since 1999, Russian coal mining volume for carbonation and power needs has continuously grown. In 2004, coal mining volume was 283 million ton, which reached 299.8 million tons in 2005 and 388 million tons in 2006. In 2006, the mining volume using underground mining methods was up 4.4% over the year 2005 (in 2006 the mining volume was 192.8 million tons).
