DEVELOPMENT OF CHINA'S INDUSTRY |
| It was in 2007 that China¡¯s stockbreeding industry experienced unprecedented difficulty, but it still renewed and developed steadily.
China¡¯s meat output steadily increased in 2007, with a total of 68 million tons, down by 3.5%. The production of pork decreased by 9.2%, but that of beef and mutton increased by 6.1% and 5.8% respectively; milk yield was 36.5 million tons, with an increase of 2.9%; egg production was 30.3 million tons, increasing by 10.5%. The total production value of stockbreeding was 1.5 trillion yuan, up by 10%. |

STATUS OF FOREIGN INVESTMENT |
| According to the statistics released by Ministry of Commerce, in 2006 there were 115 projects using foreign investment in stockbreeding industry, down 37.84% under the same period of the previous year. The actually used foreign capital amount was 54 million USD, down 57.46% under the previous year. |

| Along with china's accession to the WTO, the tariffs on imported stockbreeding's products will decline prominently. |

DEVELOPMENT OF GLOBAL INDUSTRIES |
| In 2006, global meat output totaled up to 272.5 million tons while it was 268 million tons in 2005. Meat exportation was 20.5 million tons, and importation was 20.4 million tons. Exportation accounted for 7.63% of total output. Among the meat, poultry meat was 81.9 billion tons; beef was 64.3 million tons. Both accounted for 1/10 of total output. |
