| China's forestry industry continued to maintain the sharply increasing momentum in 2007. The total production value of forestry industry was estimated to reach 1.17 trillion yuan in 2007, increasing by 9.85 year-on-year, with 131.5 billion yuan in Guangdong Province, 120 billion yuan in Fujian Province, 111.6 billion yuan in Zhejiang Province, 85.1 billion yuan in Shandong Province and 80 billion yuan Jiangsu Province. |

STATUS OF FOREIGN INVESTMENT |
| According to the statistics released by Ministry of Commerce, in 2006 there were 71 projects using foreign investment in Forestry, down 7.79% under the same period of the previous year. The actually used foreign capital amount was about 90 million USD, up 40.84% over the previous year. |

| It was predicted in 2006 income of Russian forestry sector would reach 31,947 million rubles, which was 26,565 million rubles in 2005. In 2005, investment of Russian forestry sector rose by 25% to 40 billion rubles. Although during 2003 and 2006, Russian forest industry has maintained good momentum of development, but it still lags behind other countries. |
