DEVELOPMENT OF CHINA'S INDUSTRY |
| The economic momentum of fishery in 2007 was optimistic. During Jan. to Nov., the output of Chinese aquatic product achieved 45.38m tons, up by 4.5% comparing with the same period of the previous year. Among them, output of fresh water product was 20.2425m tons, up by 7.47%; output of capture product was 13.0253m tons, up by 1.30%; output of sea water aquaculture product was 12.1123m tons, up by 3.25%. It was estimated that the total output of the whole year would exceed that of the previous year. |

STATUS OF FOREIGN INVESTMENT |
| According to the statistics released by Ministry of Commerce, in 2006 there were 98 projects using foreign investment in fishery, down 37.18% under the same period of the previous year. The actually used foreign capital amount was about 59 million USD, down 29.01% under the previous year. |

COMMITMENTS TO THE WTO AND INTERNATIONAL PRACTICES |
| Along with china's accession to the WTO, the tariffs on imported fishery's products will decline prominently. |

DEVELOPMENT OF GLOBAL INDUSTRIES |
| In 2006 Canadian export of fishes and other aquatic products (aquacultural products included) reached up to 410 million USD. As a part, imports of the altogether top 5 seafood exporting markets accounted for over 80% of the total exports of Canadian fishes and other seafood. U.S. is still its largest export market. In 2006 American import accounted for 62% of Canadian total export of seafood, reaching up to 250 million USD. |
