State Statistics Bureau: the revised 2006 GDP increased by 11.1% compared with that of last year

¡°Announcement on the Preliminarily Verified data of 2006 GDP¡± was issued by the State Statistics Bureau on the 11th of this month. The present total volume of revised 2006 GDP was 21087.1 billion RMB, increasing by 146.4 billion RMB compared with the initial estimating value. If it is calculated by the constant price, GDP increased by 11.1% compared with that of last year.

According to the regulations in ¡°Reform on the Issuing Procedures of GDP Accounting and data¡± specified by the State Statistics Bureau, the accounting of annual GDP includes three procedures primary accounting, primary verifying and final verifying. Recently, the primary accounting of 2006 GDP was revised by the State Statistics Bureau according to the 2006 statistics annual report, financial data of some industries and data of sampling investigation. The primary verifying result is 0.4 percentage points higher than the primary accounting value. Among them, the added value of primary industry was 2473.7 billion RMB, increasing by 3.7 billion RMB compared with primary accounting value. The growing rate was 5.0%, which is the same as that of the primary accounting value. The added value of secondary industry was 10316.2 billion RMB, increasing by 115.8 billion RMB compared with primary accounting value. The growing rate was 13.0%, which is 0.5 percentage points higher than that of the primary accounting value. The added value of the tertiary industry was 8297.2 billion RMB, increasing by 26.9 billion RMB. The growing rate was 10.8%, which is 0.5 percentage points higher than that of the primary accounting value.

In the industrial structure calculated by the primary verifying data, the primary industry accounts for 11.7%, the secondary industry 48.9% and the tertiary industry 39.4.
