In 2001, the individually-owned business of China realized the output value of RMB732 billion yuan, increased 2.21 percent compared with those in the same period of previous year. The total sales volume or businesses income was RMB1964.787 billion yuan, which was same as that of previous year. Retailing amount of the social consumption goods was RMB1149.923 billion yuan, increased by 1.32 percent. The amount of exports for earning foreign currencies was RMB5.592 billion RMB yuan, increased by 6.88 percent. The individually-owned businesses employed 833.2 thousand laid-off workers, including 435.4 thousand as investors.
The private enterprises realized the output value of RMB1231.699 billion yuan, the total sales volume or businesses incomes were RMB1148.424 billion yuan, the retailing amounts of the social consumption goods were RMB642.5 billion yuan, increased 14.69 percent, 16.19 percent and 7.42 percent respectively compared with the previous year. There are all 16.4 thousand enterprises making the foreign currencies of RMB91.347 billion yuan by exporting goods, increased by 23.28 percent of RMB17.251 billion yuan. The enterprises employed 586.1 thousand laid-off workers, including 96.9 thousand as investors.
