Minister of Commerce Zhong Shan met with Governor of California state of the US Jerry Brown and his delegation on June 6, and the two sides exchanged views on issues concerning China-US trade and economic relations, and trade and economic cooperation between the states of the US and the Chinese provinces.
Zhong Shan said the Ministry of Commerce would like to sustain close contacts with the State of California, further pool potential for complementary advantages in the cooperation between US states-Chinese provinces, boost cooperation achievements to benefit people’s life and consolidate the basis of China-US trade and economic relations.
Zhong Shan pointed out the state of California has strong economic power and stands out in scientific and technological innovation and clean energy area, leading the trade and economic cooperation between US states and Chinese provinces and Governor Brown is the pioneer of trade and economic cooperation between US states and Chinese provinces. The US states-Chinese provinces trade and investment cooperation joint group mechanism is not experienced. Minister Zhong Shan highly applauds the positive role that Governor Brown and the State of California have played in boosting the US states-Chinese provinces trade and economic cooperation and expects the two sides to expand cooperation on the present basis.
Brown said that he expects to consolidate cooperation with China in trade investment, clean technology and low-carbon and environmental protection areas and make greater contribution to China-US ties.
