China and New Zealand Sign Arrangement on Strengthening International Development and Cooperation Exchanges

On March 27 (New Zealand time), during Premier Li Keqiang’s official visit to New Zealand, Chinese Minister of Commerce Zhong Shan and New Zealand’s Foreign Minister Murray McCully jointly signed the Arrangement on Strengthening International Development and Cooperation Exchanges between the Ministry of Commerce of People’s Republic of China and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of New Zealand under the witness of leaders of both sides.

Recently, China and New Zealand have successfully conducted the water supply third party pilot project in Cook Islands, with positive response which has deepened bilateral mutual understanding in international development and cooperation areas. The two sides agreed to stick to the principles of “recipient countries’ proposing, recipient countries’ agreeing, recipient countries’ guiding”, further strengthen the international development and cooperation exchanges and strive for the common goal of global poverty alleviation and implementation of 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development under the framework of the arrangement.
