On December 20, Ministry of Commerce and State Statistics Bureau jointly issued the Statistical Monitoring System of International Service Trade (hereinafter referred to as the System). The System aims at improving the statistical monitoring, operation and analysis system of international service trade, and docking the work of statistical monitoring of international service trade with the international standards.
The System combines the new situation and features of China's service trade, revises the System issued in September 2014 according to the principles of comprehensively improving the veracity, subsection, timeliness and authority of statistical supervision and forms the new System.
The System covers four modes of service trade defined by the WTO and shows the following four new features: Firstly, unify arrangement, implement the pilot work of innovative development. Secondly, dock with international community, improve the existing service import and export category. Thirdly, simplify forms, cut the number of report forms up to the hilt. Fourthly, interconnectivity, optimize and improve the quality and level of data sharing between departments. The formulation of this System helps the statistical work of service trade reflect the development situation of China's service trade comprehensively, accurately and timely. It provides decision reference for governments at all levels to formulate industrial policies and development plans for service trade and to strengthen macro-management.
