Recently, Brazil launched an anti-dumping investigation against the steel strand products imported from China. Official from the Trade Remedy and Investigation Bureau made comments on it.
He said at the present time, the world steel industry is universally challenged as a result of the weak recovery of the global economy and the shrinking market demands. A consensus has been reached in this respect, and we should strengthen communications and jointly cope with these challenges.
He pointed out that both Brazil and China are emerging economies and developing countries, they have similar industrial development in terms of the structure, but frequent trade protective measures will impede the normal trade orders. The industries of both sides should intensify the complementarity and seek common development through various ways of trade, investment and technological cooperation.
The official stressed that the Chinese government has stuck to the careful, prudent and regulated use of trade remedy measures, and advocated to resolve the frictions and realize the mutually beneficial results through negotiation and cooperation.
