At 10 am , May 31 (Beijing time), the assistant supplies valued RMB 15 million provided by the Chinese government to Sri Lanka for combating flood, including 1,000 tents and 3,000 folding beds was set out from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport by a chartered airplane. It is expected to arrive at the Capital of Sri Lanka, Colombo, at 16:40 on the afternoon of May 31, local time.
After Sri Lanka was hit by the flood, the Chinese government launched the inter-ministerial working system of foreign humanitarian assistance immediately. The Ministry of Commerce, cooperating with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Civil Affairs and Civil Aviation Administration, organized the goods supply and arranged the shipment. After the above supplies arrived, China will help the recipient country with the reception, and send the international rescue team of Red Cross Society of China to help with the distribution and installation of the supplies, so that the supplies will be fully used.
