TAIPEI, June 9 (Xinhua) -- Taiwan's exports in May hit 26.67 billion U.S. dollars, up 1.4 percent year on year, the fourth consecutive month of increase, the island's statistic authority said on Monday.
Imports for the month totaled 21.38 billion U.S. dollars, with a year-on-year decrease of 2.3 percent.
According to the authority, of the main exported goods, sales of electronic products hit a record high.
The authority said that in May Taiwan exported more than 11 billion U.S. dollars to the mainland and Hong Kong, up 6.4 percent year on year. It imported 4.02 billion U.S. dollars from the mainland and Hong Kong, up 11.4 percent year on year.
